Access

Iwayaji is situated in Kumakogen-cho, Ehime, deep in the Shikoku mountains. The temple precinct proper is approximately 20-minute walk along a steep slope from the entrance to the approach. There are no other routes available. Visitors are advised that the elderly and those with disabilities may have difficulty in climbing the slope. Please be careful not to overstrain yourself.

○By car
From Matsuyama IC, take National Route 33 in the direction of Kumakogen-cho. Turn left at the intersection in front of Kuma Junior High School to take Prefectural Route 12.
About three kilometers past Kokumin Shukusha Furuiwayaso, you will find the entrance to the approach on the right.
*There are two privately-operated car parks near the entrance.

○By public transport
Take a JR Shikoku bus on the Kumakogen route for Ochide at the JR Matsuyama station. Get off at the bus stop in front of Kuma Junior High School. Transfer to an Iyotetsu Nanyo bus for Omogo and get off at the Iwayaji bus stop.
